Manong Driver for Noynoy.
I took a cab to work today. I was ready to take the three-part-commute: trike, train, bus, but a taxi stopped in front of me, so I decided..what the heck. He asked me which way I preferred — C5 or EDSA. It looked quite traffic so I said EDSA nalang po, but he insisted C5 and so we took the C5 route and there wasn’t any traffic. Good job manong.
The driver had the AM radio on (DZMM), which I liked, cause I’m a news boy. Then he started talking about the Ampatuan case and how justice is prolonged because many times it favors the rich and influential.
Then the conversation moved to the upcoming elections. I kinda anticipated it. It’s a hot topic among people nowadays. Another thing I like because again I’m a news boy haha.
I wasn’t quite getting as to who he was rooting for. He talked about his son being a strong supporter of Villar, but he didn’t give any clues that he was also for him. He explicitly said that Gibo could have been a good candidate, but he would only be a puppet of GMA and besides that, we don’t need another really smart President.
So I asked him the question in Filipino — what is your take on Noynoy? Then as I hoped for, he answered with preference towards an Aquino presidency. Yey! haha. He gave several reasons why Noynoy was his choice — because his parents are heroes and have an impeccable track record, he has a lot of pressure to live up to this and would not make the mistake of tainting their names and his family’s reputation. Noynoy, because he believes he will not steal the people’s money and use the presidency for personal gain. He believes Noynoy can and will gain the nation’s trust and rebuild government for the better.
He said 8 out of 10 of his riders are for Noynoy. The 2 are undecided and swaying towards Erap or Gordon.
I remain a Noynoy supporter. I believe his presidency will greatly boost the moral revolution that our country badly needs. I believe he will inspire many Filipinos to strive for moral uprightness above all, that will clean government and result to a system “that works.”.
Thank God for people like you, manong! I hope you influence more of your riders to vote for Noynoy. I do hope our candidate wins this presidency.
Avatar-landia!
Avatar was niceee! Watched it on 3D. The glasses weren’t so great in Gateway Cinema. They seemed quite blurred.. Or maybe it was just the blurry vision they speak of with 3D movies.
It was longgg..around 3 or more hours. But it wasn’t really dragging, just around 1 or 2 parts. The chasing scenes and fighting scenes were really good — hair-raising! haha. And the 3D made it even crazier.. I’m afraid of heights, and there was this part when the character would peer down the cliff or from the high tree..my stomach would start to react and I’d squiggle in my chair =S
There were parts too which was soo Pocahontas-i and Kumbaya-like. They should probably remix the Kumbaya song into some Lady Gaga themed disco tune and it would work with the movie..
The theme song would catch you though at the end of the movie. I started to giggle as it reminded me of Pocahontas singing, or like my friend Ella Casas singing haha.
Awake
I was sleepy the whole day today.
I woke up at 5:15am all refreshed and ready to take a shower. Then I fell back to sleep and woke up 15 minutes later all tired all of a sudden. I had a short dream in that 15 minutes. It seemed like a quick REM sleep. I hate waking up from a deep sleep. It ruins the whole day.
So coming home, I had a short nap in the bus. After alighting from the train ride, I sluggishly walked to the trike station and looked for a trike that would take me home. When I boarded one, and having not seen the flap of metal body, I hit the side of my head and gained a bump.
It was then that I woke up.
Minggai the Cat
I name the house cat Minggai.
She is pregnant again and her stomach is awfully bloated. It’s scary when she lies on her side on the marble floor near the dining table. Those seated may not see her when they stand up and might end up stepping on her stomach.
I will not try to imagine it.
2010
I’ve had enough of settling. This year will be the next best year — no, better yet THE best year for me! Largely in terms of career, then love, then everything else I dream of. It will be a year of great trials, great trials that I will overcome.
I feel good about this year not just for me, for my friends and family, but also for the nation. It’s election year and we get to vote for several local and national positions. It’s my generation’s first time to vote, and so I hope our numbers will put the right people in power. It seems to me like a make or break year, that the time is very ripe to start the transformation for things better.
I will actively wait and see.
Oh and since I noticed many of my friends going back to blogging, I decided to give in to my jealous-feelings. I’m restarting my blog as well.
Oh and btw, Google has its first mobile phone called Nexus One! Now that sounds very familiar.. haha (go to http://www.tourismcebu.com/smithersportal/cd/2/Enter%20the%20Nexus%20Here.htm to see what I mean haha)
